Hi Rich,

TuneUp Drive Defrag is part of TuneUp 1-Click-Maintenance which could be scheduled by time or to run in idle mode. Within the settings of automatic maintenance you can select the defrag method if you like to or leave the decision to TuneUp Drive Defrag. So you could schedule the defragmentation of your hard disk without Windows Task Planer. Parameters to run TuneUp Drive Defrag without user interface are not available.

Best,
Alexandra

Hey Rich, I understand your problem and I'm trying to find out if there's a workaround to start DD in "silent mode" and execute via Task Scheduler. In the meantime: Is there a specific reason you're not using the "Automatic Maintenance" (which inlucdes Drive Defrag) feature of TUU 2010? You can also configure it to run on a specific schedule and uncheck every other maintenance task EXCEPT defrag, if you like!

You'll find the settings when you click on "Settings/Maintenance" in TUU 2010.

Does that work for you?

Cheers, Sandro

I was trying to set TuneUp Utilities 2010 Drive Defrag to run automatically from the Windows 7 Task Scheduler. Going to set it up, found that there are no extensions for the executable so all the task will do is open the application. Is that a valid comment? Are there Arguments/Extensions to make it run thorough defrag without human interaction? If not, it should definitely be built in to the next release or maybe/hopefully an update, soon. Please get back to me as soon as possible. I need to find out if I can get this set up for a client machine as well as my own. Thanks!

Hi Ahmed, thanks for your response. Not sure I understand your comment, but to be on the safe side: There is no need to defrag flash memory (e.g. SD cards), as they don't work like a regular hard disk!

Greetings,
Sandro
