TuneUp Blog Survey Results—Thanks for Your Feedback!
Again, thanks for taking the time to complete our brief survey (which is now closed) on the TuneUp Blog about Windows. We received a whopping 410 responses!
Interesting findings
The survey revealed that the majority of readers like to read about tips and tricks/how to’s, followed by product reviews/awards, tests/benchmarks, our finds of the week, and our behind the scenes looks.
When asked about which topics readers find most interesting, 93% said PC performance and 82% said Windows tweaking/tuning. In comparison, only 22% were interested in styling, and 19% were interested in gaming.

As for what operating systems our readers are using, 42% have Windows 7, 36% use XP, and 26% have Vista. Most respondents also believe our blog requires an intermediate level of PC knowledge, which is great with 71% of you rating your PC knowledge as intermediate!

Q&A with TuneUp
We also loved your feedback asking for more interaction and content—and we’re working to bring that to you. The team also wanted to address some questions we received from readers.
Q: I use Windows Vista—where should I go to edit my startup folder?
A: You can edit the setup of startups with TuneUp StartUp Manager. Open TuneUp Utilities, and go to “Increase performance: All functions” and then to “Configure system startup” to find and access TuneUp StartUp Manager.
Q: I used to update TuneUp Utilities a lot over the year, but I don’t remember if I have updated it since installing the current version. Have I done something wrong?
A: Upon the first launch of TuneUp Utilities, the TuneUp Update Wizard automatically opens and allows you to choose if you want it to look for updates. If you selected “No” with the Option “Remind me later”, you can decide how often you would like the TuneUp Update Wizard to ask again.
If you chose “Don’t remind me”, the TuneUp Update Wizard won’t launch automatically again. In this case, you have to launch it manually. To do this, go to the main TuneUp Utilities page, and select “More functions > Check for Updates” from the top menu tab.
Q: One thing that is annoying is the length of time it takes me to find out where I can check a disk. I can never remember where it is—how about a menu line item saying “Check Disk”?
A: You can find “Check hard disk for errors” in the third pillar from the left, labeled “Fix problems”. When you get there, click “All functions”, and “Check hard disk for errors” is the third entry from the top.
If you have any additional questions, we are happy to help—just send an e-mail to alexandra.feedback@tune-up.com.
